My office environment was one where the senior members of the team had a voice and a valued opinion and members further down the line were invisible. Actually, those of us in the engine room of the company knew much more about how effectively the business was working and could have offered great insight.

We were also rarely praised for good work but in turn often received negativity if we didn't reach expectations. On the days that my bosses were sick or on holiday I would initiate and complete deals for them which they would then reap large commission for and they would not even say thank you or give me any recognition. Increasingly, this led to my motivation disappearing and my interest in the company decreasing. Safe to say, I am no longer there.
